Mother Earth is the center of the family of man. At Lake Area Disposal we care about our environment and want to do our part. Thats why we operate Springfield's only full-service recycling center. And the best thing about it we come to your home and pick it up. In keeping with our philosophy of protecting our precious resources, the Lake Area Recycling Service program recycles the following:


These items are acceptable in Recycle Bins.

*   Aluminum Beverage Cans

*   Tin Cans (Such as Soup cans or Dog food, rinse and leave labels on)

*   Newspapers, Magazines, Junk Mail, Phonebooks

*   ChipBooard (Like Beer and Soda Boxes)

*  #1 Plastics (Think Soda and Water bottles)

*  #2 Plastics (Think Milk Jugs, butter tubs, and detergent bottles)

*  #3 Plastics (Think shampoo or cooking oil bottles)

*  #4 Plastics (Think margerine tub tops)

*  #5 Plastics (Think Prescription botttles, yogurt containers, and bottle caps)

*  #7 Plastics (Think ketchup squeeze bottles or micowavable dishes)

For all plastics look for the number 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 7 Recycling Logo, rinse and leave labels on.(No plastic bags or styrofoam)

We make it easy for you by providing one of the bright blue recycling boxes (Provided by the City Of Springfield) which we will empty Curb-Side on a weekly basis. You may use another container of your own along with our recycle bins (may be a Rubbermaid container or small garbage can) Please call our office at 522-9271 for more information.
